Change is Gonna Come...

Well, my last post is dated November 2, 2011. Oh, how our lives changed only two days later (hence why I haven't posted).

This is what changed on November 4, 2011...

In case you can't see that, it's a pregnancy test. And, YES, it's positive! It turned positive so fast I didn't have time to blink! I immediately called my dear husband who was already headed to his tree stand. Actually, scratch that. I sent him a pic of it and said "do you know what this means?" He, then called me within seconds, and said "are you serious? Are we really going to have a baby?" And with tears I told him it appeared that way. The rest of the day was spent in wonder and amazement!

It gets more interesting from here. You see, we had our first doctor's appointment on November 15, 2011. This is what we saw that day...

Nope. There's nothing wrong with your vision! We are having twins! Apparently, when you turn 30 coupled with the fact you literally just came off birth control a month earlier, your chances for having multiples greatly increases! We were in shock! I believe Mr. C's words to the ultrasound technician were, "I wouldn't be more surprised if I woke up with my head stapled to the carpet." (yes, we love National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation). I cried. He laughed. He was ready for them to be here by that evening. I was still not accepting of the fact that I was carrying twins. It took a few weeks for me to truly process this reality.

Now, I love the thought of two precious babies! However, as some women live being prego, I have not. Enter reason number 2 for having not blogged in months! I. Have. Been. So. Sick. Since week 6 to be exact. What week am I at now, you might wonder. Week 19 and 6 days! Now, it's not near to the extent it was at, but nonetheless still there at times. Sudden, unexpected times. I know it will have been worth it, though, in a few short months.

So, now, you're somewhat caught up. I have another big revealing to post, but I'll save that for another day (soon! Not months from now). Mr. C and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little ones. Then the change is really going to come.

I SPY Wednesday...

I SPY...
My kiddos at school love I Spy books, games, and creations. Admission-I love them, too. Who doesn't love a good find. (And that feeling you get when you found what you were searching for-WooHoo!)

So, since Wednesday's are very rushed, I'm going to provide you with a variety of things to check out. Things that I spied while wandering around the web, craft markets, and trunk shows. I love those. I love going with this girl to those things. Anyway, enjoy what I've spied!

Society Knot Dress

I love these knot dresses by Georgia Grace. She's a newer designer who started out on Etsy and production just got too big! You can host a trunk show at your home or a virtual show. And lots of her products are named after Eloise the children's book character (which as a teacher, I just eat that up).

Lovely Chevron 15" Laptop Snuggie
Isn't this adorable??!! I love the little yo-yos on the front. It's a laptop snuggie! You can find them here at RagstoRiches. Or you could just be crafty yourself...

Ahhh, there she is. Isn't she beautiful? I hope Mr. C will get US one! I keep using the old "maybe we'll have a family soon and I don't want to miss a single QUALITY shot!" line. Maybe...just maybe. Pray for me.

God's Mercies are New Beaded Canvas - 6x6
I was first introduced to glory haus by my bestie, Candace. She got this cute little canvas magnet with this verse on it! I love it! Since, I've seen it at craft fairs and boutiques. They have a little bit of everything for everyone.

Well, that's it for today! Leave a comment and tell me what wonderful things you have spied recently. Remember, it's polite to share

Tastes of Mississippi Mud

Welcome to Mississippi Mud! This is only the third time I've tried to start a blog, but either I didn't like the title, or I didn't like the layout, or I couldn't find a common theme for the blog, or I just didn't sit down and write anything. Finally, I thought, "Lin, for goodness sake, just go ahead and blog! For the Love!" So, I was going through my mom's homemade "cookbook" and came across the recipe for Mississippi Mud cake, and it hit me. I live in Mississippi, I love to cook and it just came together! I like it...I love it! And now I know what I want to blog about!

This blog will be used to chronicle our life together in the midst of Mississippi and our growing family. I'll write about traveling around Mississippi as I learn to call it home and all the Southern charm it holds. The going-on's of my classroom in a rural low socioeconomic school should provide entertainment and ideas to teachers and moms alike. I'll babble on about issues of life and cooking and crafting!

Maybe I'll even work up to being as popular as one of my favorite bloggers. Go ahead click on the link...check her out! She's F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S.! She's just so real and...a happy to my day! Hopefully, I'll get into those Linky Party thingy's, too!

Psst...Maybe I can even convince Mr. C to buy me one of those nifty Nikon D90's for the pictures for this blog! Leave a comment to help me convince him to get me us one!

Y'all come back!
